Love letters I’ll never send to my crush

I’m writing this out knowing there’s a high possibility that I never send it to you. I just have to get all the words down so I don’t explode. Or misplace jealousy. I don’t know why but there’s this exact moment where I want from working with you and barely knowing you to instantly falling head over heels. I guess I’m writing this out because I know I’ll never tell you. Everyone knows. Except you. I’m not sure if I want you to know. I don’t want anything to be weird. I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable in our friendship. I don’t want you to feel guilty for not feeling the same. But I have to write this. For me. It’s probably the only time I’ll allow myself to be selfish. I have to be ready for you to date someone else. I’m determined to only cry happy tears at your wedding. I’m determined to have the necessary boundaries when you have a wife. I’m preparing myself for the inevitability that it won’t be me. I’m writing this because I’d rather have the messy, ugly, complicated, secret, beautiful truth typed out than rolling around in my brain leading me to make stupid decisions. I don’t want to act in rebellion to unrequited longing. I don’t want to shut my emotions down. I don’t want to go through the motions. I don’t want to go into autonomy and make you go through watching me enter a destructive relationship to distract myself from the fact that I love you.

“Not use collective punishment as it is not fair on the many people who did nothing and under the 1949 Geneva Conventions it is a war crime.”

engineer-pearl0

Wait it’s a fucking WAR CRIME?!?! I mean that might not be 100% accurate but now I gotta know

tlitookilakin

holy crap, collective punishment is a war crime.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_Geneva_Convention#Collective_punishments

and according to the exact legal phrasing-

No protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.

This technically counts, as students are civilians, and thus considered a “protected person”. So yes, collective classroom punishment breaks the fourth Geneva Convention, and she should be rewarded for standing up for human rights and doing her research.

Power-move: accuse your teacher of a war crime using knowledge they supplied you with

Oof I once wrote an entire paper in the 6th grade about a man who lived in the DVD player of the classroom and saw the entire class be punished for the actions of a few and now I find out that it was a freaking war crime

I was getting pretty fed up with links and generators with very general and overused weapons and superpowers and what have you for characters so:

Here is a page for premodern weapons, broken down into a ton of subcategories, with the weapon’s region of origin.

Here is a page of medieval weapons.

Here is a page of just about every conceived superpower.

Here is a page for legendary creatures and their regions of origin.

Here are some gemstones.

Here is a bunch of Greek legends, including monsters, gods, nymphs, heroes, and so on.

Here is a website with a ton of (legally attained, don’t worry) information about the black market.

Here is a website with information about forensic science and cases of death. Discretion advised.

Here is every religion in the world.

Here is every language in the world.

Here are methods of torture. Discretion advised.

Here are descriptions of the various methods used for the death penalty. Discretion advised.

Here are poisonous plants.

Here are plants in general.

Feel free to add more to this!

An exceedingly useful list of lists for writers.
